If you are a blogger you know one of the biggest challenges you will face is how to make money blogging and justify the time and cost of running a blog. In a perfect world we would all love to just share information from the goodness of our hearts but every blog post we make costs us something. It could be sleep, it could be an extra hour with the kids, or it could even be something as simple as relaxing and watching a movie instead of writing.
Most bloggers will never come close to making a full time living with their blog. An extra $50 a month for a dinner out with the family (ok, a trip to McDonald’s with the family) or a few hundred dollars a year to help pay for a vacation would be a welcome reward for many bloggers. So that raises the issue:
How To Make Money Blogging
If you do some searches you will find dozens and dozens of other blogs out there telling you how to make money blogging but most of them can be boiled down to something like:
- Build great content
- Sell ads
- Affiliate links
- Create your own products
- Build your email list
Yeah, those are all well and good but really, most of the resources I looked at and have seen in the past don’t go too much more in depth than that. There are very, very few practical steps in most of those “how to make money blogging” posts and that can be very frustrating for most bloggers. So why aren’t there any practical guides with some actionable tips, specific examples, and clear explanations of how to make money blogging?
Well, now there is…
A few days ago my friend Adam Riemer sent me a copy of a new book he had put together:
Adam Riemer has written a great guide that will walk a blogger through how they can make money with their blog. Adam has been in the affiliate/SEO/online marketing arena for many years now and is one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry when it comes to helping bloggers make money with their blogs.
In this book “How to Make Money Blogging” Adam lays out some of the basics like what the different types of ads you can use are, when and where to use the different ads, how to use analytics and some different tools to optimize your ads, and even how to develop a quality media kit that advertisers will trust and understand.
But where this book really stands out in my opinion is when he gets into some specific blog niches and how a blogger in those niches can make money blogging. Adam covers popular niches like travel bloggers, wedding bloggers, food bloggers, and fashion bloggers and will give you some specific ideas on how you can take a recipe post for example and effectively make money on it.
This “How to Make Money Blogging” book is only 38 pages long but it is packed with solid information. You can probably read through it in 10-15 minutes but it is definitely a resource you will want to refer back to many, many times. Like any “how to” guide it isn’t exhaustive and it probably won’t answer all your questions but there is more than enough information in there to get you pointed in the right direction.
If you are a blogger do yourself a favor and go download Adam’s book “How to Make Money Blogging” today. It is only $9.95 and well worth it.
