Back from Affiliate Summit East in New York and my head is still spinning. Between all the networking, learning, new ideas, new friends I met, old friends I saw again, some very late nights, and an overall great time I am just starting to get back in the swing of things.
I have been trying to decide if I want to make this another marathon post about everything at Affiliate Summit but I think I will just try to keep this short. Let me give you just a few of the highlights of the trip for me (in no particular order):
- I got to see two Yankee games in the new Yankees Stadium. The first was on Friday night against the Red Sox and I met up with Shawn Collins, Missy Ward, Scott Jangro and Brian Littleton. Even though I didn’t get there until the middle of the 7th Inning (SuperShuttle FAIL) I still got to see 7 1/2 innings ended by a walk off home run. The second game was on Tuesday and they played the Blue Jays. I went with Jason Rubacky (thanks for the tickets dude), David, Sarah, Lisa, Steph, Eric, Aaron, Jon, and Vinny and it was a great time also.
- “New” people I met – Most of these people I have briefly met before but either they didn’t remember me or I just met them briefly and got to hang out with them more here: Jen and David Goode, Kim Rowley, Mike Buechele, Wade Tonkin, Joel and Karen Garcia, Jamie Birch, Stephen Robinson, Michael and Jon Nunez, Madaline and Emily from CSN, Jim Kukral, Logan Thompson, Steve Nassau, Eric Nagel, and a bunch of others I am probably forgetting
- “Old” friends I got to reconnect with – These are people I have know for a few years and have hung out with a bit in the past and it is always good to see them again: Brian Littleton, Scott Jangro, Pat Grady, Angel Djambazov, Lisa Picarille, Todd Farmer, Jim Banks, Todd Friesen, Stephanie Lichtenstein, Andy Rodriguez, Emelio Yepez, Missy Ward, Jason Rubacky, and probably a bunch of others I am forgetting
- Golfing – Got to go golfing with Brian Littleton and Scott Jangro again. We always have a fun time when we go and this was no exception. I probably played my worst rounds in about 7 or 8 years and Pete Dye kicked our butts all day but it is hard to be mad when you are playing 36 holes with those guys
- The Shareasale Party – This is always a highlight of any Affiliate Summit. The party was on the roof of the Empire Hotel and we had an awesome time. Awesome venue and great company. Thanks Shareasale. And speaking of “Thanks Shareasale” let me break this up a bit with a video:
-
New York City – This was my first time in NY and I have to say I loved it. Not sure I would want to live there but it is a great place to visit. Personally I think it is awesome to be able to walk a block and have about a dozen different food options. It wasn’t as dirty as I thought it would be and I didn’t run into any rude people at all.
-
Bowling with GTO Management – Wade Tonkin and Joel and Karen Garcia from GTO Management hosted a bowling trip on Monday night. There were about 20 of us and we all had a great time. We also got bowling shirts from BowlingShirt.com and there were plenty of beverages to go around. And I also found out from Kim Rowley that we had Nicole Facciuto, the host of HGTV’s Red Hot and Green bowling with us. Didn’t even know. Awesome time and thank you guys.
I could go on and on but I promised to keep this short. Maybe over the next few days I will go into more detail but for now you can just check out this video of some of the fun times we had:
Thank you Missy and Shawn for putting on another great event. I will see you guys in Vegas in January. Can’t wait.
Anyone else have some great memories? Leave a comment and let me know.

Joe – great to hang out with you again and the golf was a great day for sure. We'll see you in California, and thanks a bunch for the video and recommendation… it means a lot to us and it is especially gratifying to the team that was there at the show. So thanks!
Would've been great to be there – and to beat you and Scott in a re-match 🙂
