I love the affiliate industry. I love the people in it. I love the friends I have made through this business. I love the diversity of this industry. I love the fact that affiliates help each other out. I love that they are generous. When an group like Affiliate Marketers Give Back can raise over $200K in just a few years that tells you something about this industry. When I see a list like Tricia Meyer put together about the Amazing Women in Affiliate Marketing I am just blown away as I look through that list of awesome ladies, many of whom I am happy to call my friends. And this doesn’t even mention the awesome men in this industry.
And with that oh so subtle transition let me introduce you to Jason Rubacky. Most of you probably already know him. If you don’t you need to. Jason is the guy at Shareasale you want to talk to if you are an affiliate. He is always willing to help and answer any questions you might have. You can call him any time of day and he will do whatever he can to help. You ask for something, he delivers. There are few people I know who love their job the way Jason loves his. Few people are as hard working as he is. Over the years I know he has helped me tremendously.
So when I heard that his mom was sick I was looking for a way to help. I think I first heard about his mom a couple years ago and then again last fall. Other than praying I have been looking for a way to help him and support him through this. I have never really had to deal with a sick parent so I can’t really relate to what he is going through but I can imagine it has to be very tough.
Yesterday Jason put up a site called Save Jason’s Mom. He details some of the ailments his mom is struggling with and overall it doesn’t sound fun at all. With long term, chronic illnesses like this the medical bills pile up quickly, even with insurance. And now he is asking for our help.
I know I have recieved more from Jason than I have given back to him over the years and I am glad there is now an opportunity to give back to him a bit. I am sure many of you feel the same way and I would encourage you to go to http://www.savejasonsmom.org and make a donation today. $10, $20, $500… Whatever you can give will be a huge blessing to him and his family.
You can also check out Logan Thompson’s post about Jason and read Dina Riccs account of her recent struggles and how she can relate to what Jason’s mom is going through.
There are tons of great people in the affiliate industry and we need to support each other. Visit Save Jason’s Mom today and help Jason and his mom. If you can’t give financially please post on Facebook, tweet something out, write blog posts, and do whatever else you can to help spread the word.
Very awesome of you to make this post, Joe. You rock.
What a great post! You are one of the most sincere people in our business. The more "positive" that we put out there, the more good things that will come of it. 🙂
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comments. I struggle every day and this has made me feel like there are still people out there that care. I have never wanted anyone's help thru my lifetime and it kills me to ask at this time but the stress is killing me.. I don't want Jason to be without his mother, and my granddaughter to be without her Mema. So thanks again for what you have done. Good things come to good people.
